Cheese Cookies

4 cups flour 250 gm feta cheese 
1 teaspoon baking powder 
1  1 / 4 cups butter
1 egg, lightly beaten with a dash of pepper 
1 tablespoon poppy seeds

Beat the cheese and butter until creamy.
Sift flour with baking powder.
Add to mixture and mix until a dough consistency is formed.
Spread with roller and cut into round shapes or use any cookie shape cutters.
Place onto a baking tray allowing some space in between.
Brush top with beaten egg and sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Bake in a moderately hot preheated oven until golden.
Allow to cool on baking tray. Serve and store in a tin box tightly closed.
Serve with tea or as a snack
