How to Cast a
Magickal Circle

Prior to any actual Magickal Spell Workings, it is Important to Prepare an Area, and Prepare Yourself for the Task of Spellcasting. The way this is Accomplished is by Casting a Circle of Protection, or Magickal Circle. Within this Consecrated Area, it is possible to Better Focus the Energies and Intent of what the actual Spellcasting is for. Upon Completion of a Ritual or Spell, the Magickal Circle must be Dispersed. Failure to do so would Bind Energies, a Situation which would Conflict with the "Harm None" Rule. Meditation, Visualization and Energy Handling

Materials You will Need To Cast the Magickal Circle:

Representatives of the Four Elements and Directions

North ~ Earth ~ Salt (Coarse, Not Table Salt)

West ~ Water ~ Blessed or Spring Water (may be bottled)

South ~ Fire ~ Candle

East ~ Air ~ Incense

For the Incense and Candle, use a Correct Correspondant for your Particular Working.

Be Sure to have All Items You will Need (Items listed above, Matches, Your Spell or

Ritual, a Candle Snuffer, any Other Materials you may wish to Include in your Working)

With You Before Casting the Circle!

Casting the Magickal Circle

Facing North, hold the Container of Salt and Say:

Guardians of the North, I do Summon Thee,

Witness these Magickal Workings (Ritual, Rite) and Guard this Circle.

Powers of Earth, Grant me Material Abundance

as I Journey between trhe Worlds.

Walk Clockwise around your Working Area with the Salt and Sprinkle Lightly.

Facing East, hold the Incense and Say:

Guardians of the East, I do Summon Thee,

Witness these Magickal Workings (Ritual, Rite) and Guard this Circle.

Powers of Air, Grant me Knowledge

as I Journey between trhe Worlds.

Walk Clockwise around your Working Area with the Incense.

Facing South, hold the Candle and Say:

Guardians of the South, I do Summon Thee,

Witness these Magickal Workings (Ritual, Rite) and Guard this Circle.

Powers of Fire, Grant me Energy

as I Journey between trhe Worlds.

Walk Clockwise around your Working Area with the Candle.

Facing West, hold the Container of Water and Say:

Guardians of the West, I do Summon Thee,

Witness these Magickal Workings (Ritual, Rite) and Guard this Circle.

Powers of Water, Grant me Intuition

as I Journey between trhe Worlds.

Walk Clockwise around your Working Area with the Water and Sprinkle Lightly.

Return to the Center of the Circle, to Your Alter and Say:

The Circle is Now Cast and I am Betwen the Worlds.

Dispersing the Magickal Circle

Facing North, say:

Thanks be to You, Guardian of the North, and Your Powers of Earth.

Facing East, say:

Thanks be to You, Guardian of the East, and Your Powers of Air.

Facing South, say:

Thanks be to You, Guardian of the South, and Your Powers of Fire.

Facing West, say:

Thanks be to You, Guardian of the West, and Your Powers of Water.

Walk Counter - Clockwise around your Working Area and Say:

I Thank You and Release You All, Depart in Peace.

The Circle is Opened, But Never Broken!

So Mote It Be!
