Rich has always wanted to try to make a cupola for the garage. For those of you that don't know what that is, this will show you. He worked very hard on it and I think it turned out GREAT! He has had many compliments on it. It only took him about a week and a half to do. It was made out of scrap wood from our basement. Total cost, about $30. I hope you enjoy looking at it. Thanks for visiting. Please sign the guestbook and let us know what you think.
Here is a picture of it with the light on. Rich took an old light fixture that we had in the basement and installed it. Looks pretty cool.
This is the first picture of it put together. Rich sandblasted the horses on the glass from a picture that I downloaded from the web.
Here is a picture with the first coat of paint on it. The trim work is not done yet. and the top does not have the final cap on it yet. I got the weather vane from a shop on the web called Rusty Tin for $13.99.
Here is a picture of it almost ready to go on the garage. Rich just has to cut the angle for it to fit on the roof properly. I think it looks awesome, how about you?
Here is the garage roof without the cupola.
Here is Rich cutting the angle so that it will fit just right.
The first step in putting it on, lifting it onto the roof.
Almost there!
Only the top left to go.
All done and up on the roof.
