Here is something cool for all you people who like old Chevys with balls!  This is a 1980 C10.  It is powered by a 454 V8 and a TH350C trans.  Nothing fancy.  Has 135K on the clock and has a 12 bolt rear with 3.08 gears.  This lead sled weighs in at a big and fat 4500 pounds with a 1/4 tank of gas!
Truck needs a grille and new headlight bezels, but 'tis all minor.  The front fenders are new and so is the paint.  Plus the tailgate is from a GMC.
The TH-350C now has a shift kit courtesy of B&M and still bangs through the gears with the stock column shifter.  It shifts pretty hard considering the power plant. The truck now also sits on a set of aftermarket Corvette wheels from way back and 245x60x15 tires in the front and 265x60x15 tires in the rear.  They improve handling a lot and give the truck that lifted-rear-end look.  It has a locking torque converter which works but is very selective about when, so I will probably end up disconnecting it.  A toggle switch would be nice...

For these time the truck was identical to above with the exception of the tires.  For these runs I was using 8.5" slicks launching @ 2000 RPM.  No posi or anything fancy.  The big 454 was also huffing through cats and mufflers.
I regret to inform my audience that this 454 met its demise making a trip to Hershey to look at a truck.  I was passing someone and when to drop it a gear and dropped it 2 gears instead. At 65 MPH first gear is very bad.  Anyway the intake valve on cyl 3 bent and broke off the exhaust valve which cracked the piston and totally shattered it.  Withing 2 seconds!  I can save the block and a few other peices, that's it.  BTW:  it sounded cool at 8000 RPM for 2 seconds.
This is how she looks now.  It has a tunnel rammed 283 in it, same trans, and stuff.  It was never the same after the 454 and I am selling it.  I may put the 250 back in it just to get it running and get rid of it.
