Obligatory commentary: this is a body only; no motor or trans. looks like someone had tried to de-custom-ize the front end... the car was wearing a regular grille and headlight buckets. i found the original custom grille in the back seat, but the custom headlight buckets are missing. looks like they have replaced the front bumper also... it does not have the rubber impact strip like the rear bumper has. and i guess thats a "new" hood also. i don't know why they were replacing all these front end parts... the car seems to have the original fenders (notice the carmine/red "stripes" where the beltline chrome used to be. the fenders are not damaged at all (other than 30 years worth of dings) so if the car had been wrecked in the front i would think the fenders would indicate that. the car's original color was "carmine" (red) but someone did a very nice black paintjob and then someone came along later and did a shitty black paintjob in certain areas. or maybe thats black primer? the chrome trim for the rear wheel housings was in the trunk. also in the trunk was the gas tank and straps. they were about to send this car off to the crusher and one of my dad's friends said "no! i know someone who would probably like to have it." only one one small piece of the beltline chrome was found inside the car. it looks like i've got a lot of custom trim to locate if i'm going to restore this thing back to original. looks like it has a 1977 style steering wheel. the door tag says the car was made in 8/77 but the vin and cowl tags indicate the car is a 78. the rearend looks to be an 8.5 but i'm not sure of the gear ratio (i tried to find the axle code but it got dark and my flashlight got dim).
