AUGUST 1999--SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
I FINALLY paid off my Engine that was in a local machine shop. The engine was a Chevy Smallblock 400, I bought the engine from my friend Ethan for 250 bucks. The engine came of a 1974 Chevy Monte Carlo. I was alittle hesitant to use this engine because it was only a 2 bolt main, But the engine shop owner assured me that it was an extremly strong engine(Because the metals that GM used on the Casts of the engine blocks).  The engine was basicly stock, except for a semi-radical cam, but yet pretty stock. I installed the engine on a nice summer day with the help of my friends Shawn and Courtney, and the Engine hoist that I borrowed from a work friend, Lou.
It went in fairly simple, But of course I had to unbolt the tranny. I droped the Distributer in after I finished bolting up the engine to the tranny. The only thing was I put it in 180 degrees off of TOP DEAD CENTER. WOW WHAT A FLAME, I almost lost a whole head of hair. I finally got it in right and it ran like a dream!!
