Their innings was based upon 40 not out from Paul Kent (whose running between the wickets was a highlight of his innings), backed up by 25 from Mark Challis and an explosive 23 not out by John Smith near the end of the innings. Despite losing wickets, Eridge were able to get the runs required in just 30 overs in a dynamic display of big-hitting, with their number 5 batsman scoring 44. Andy Black finished with good bowling figures of 3-51 but Chevening eventually lost by 3 wickets.
