Where it Started

I bought this car in July of 1999 for $2800. It ran pretty well and the body and frame are great. It had a small block in it, but was very standard and only a 2-bolt main....some things just scream for change! It has a turbo 350 tranny. The interior needed major help but did have a decent dash and brand new carpet. The seats were in great shape but were red velour and absolutely not stock. The next 2 pictures are from the day that Craig and I pulled the old 2-bolt out of the car. You can see somebody tried to dress it up but it needed a lot of work.

Where it Is Now

***UPDATE JANUARY 28, 2002***I put the motor in this past fall and it runs great. Instead of rebuilding my spare rearend, I got a good deal on another one with brand new posi and 4.56 gears! How cool is that! I also got a good deal on a new 350 tranny with manual valve body and 3200 stall converter. Those items will be going in this winter. I think I am going to wait to do the repainting until next winter. I'm going to put the interior in and have the car ready for the road and strip this spring. It's nearing completion and is getting very exciting. It sounds GREAT!

Right now my baby is sitting in the garage with no motor and no interior. The motor is sitting on the stand and almost done. It is a 350 4-bolt main. I had it bored to 4.030 and have brand new "pink" racing rods and 10.4:1 lightweight KB racing pistons. The cam is very extreme, but I think it will be a lot of fun once the tranny is rebuilt. I have a 2500 stall converter to intstall when I drop the motor in. I have a set of fully ported 461 double hump heads with 2.02 valves. When I put everything into the Desktop Dyno it's showing that I should top out at nearly 450hp and 446ft/lbs of torque! VERY COOL! The interior is completely out of it except the carpet, dash and the newly installed B&M Hammer ratchet shifter.

What's to Come?

Well...I am taking the car to N. Carolina this winter to have a new interior installed and will then have my uncle in Canton, OH paint it for me. I'm not sure what color yet so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Right now I'm thinking a royal blue with white racing stripes. I will also have the tranny rebuilt over the winter and my spare posi rearend rebuilt with 4.11 gears. If anyone has any opinions or ideas please let me know. I'm always looking for new things to try or improve upon.

What's New?

I just found this awesome new virtual drag racing game. I'm starting my own "team" for this site so feel free to check it out and see what you're made of. We'll show these guys what a true chevelle person can do!
