| Chevado Gets Ink! |
| Over the last 36 years Chevado has appeared in numerous Drag Racing and Hot Rod publications. We here at Chevado Racing are very proud of the fact that the car has been able to attract media attention consistently over time. I've decided to post these articles and photos on this page. I think we have most of them but if you have one stuffed away somewhere in a stack of magazines that you don't see here PLEASE send it to us at [email protected] |

| The first time Chevado got ink was in the July 1968 Issue of Popular Hotrodding. The article really had nothing to do with Chevado or it's Drivetrain. The article is about clutches the manual kind and Chevado is an Automatic Transmission. But what the heck we got a photo of our car in a magazine and we were a bunch of happy young Hot Rodders. |

| March 1969 WOW! the cover of Car Craft Magazine! The magazine was doing an article about streetable Drag cars and included Chevado then they chose Chevado for the cover. We were estatic to say the least. The cover shot and article follows. |

| Let me set this next photo up for you. It was Wednesday in April 1968 and Steve Gibbs (Then track Manager at Irwindale Raceway) had let us lay down a lot of test runs that afternoon. That was the first day that "CHEVADO" had been on a Dragstrip. As we were packing up to home. Steve asked if we would come back that night & put on some runs in front of the Wednesday night crowd.He didn't have to ask twice. I told him we would be there. As luck would have it. There were a whole lot of people there that night. One of those people unknown to us. Was Don Green. Don was a freelance Photographer. He took some pictures of "CHEVADO" making its first runs in front of the public. A couple weeks later when we were out there running again. Another Racer came up to us and said that he had been at Peterson Publishing the day before and Don had sold them 3 pictures of "CHEVADO"he went on to say that one of the pictures was going to be the Centerspread in the September 1968 issue of Hot Rod Magazine. And the rest is history. |

| The third time "Chevado" Got ink was in late 1968. Peterson Publishing used to put out an annual Drag Racing Pictorial featuring the best Drag Racing shots from all of their Magazines from that year. One of the ones they chose for 1968 was the Don Green Shot from April 1968 at Irwindale Raceway. A special thanks to Ray Nestico for bringing this 36 year old Magazine photo Back to life. |

| The fifth time "CHEVADO" got ink was this January 1970 article in Popular Hot Rodding Magazine. The Photos were taken at San Fernando Raceway and if memory serves me correct they are also Don Green photos. This was a two page sread but in the interest of anybody that might want to read the article I have posted them top to bottom to try and keep the text at a size that is readable. |
