The meeting lasted for more than 12 hours, from 8:00a.m. to 10:00p.m. But
it is enjoyable because I met my previous supervisor , Professor Asada, and
many old friends.

Diary on World University Game, Kobe 1985, HK-Taipei-Japan.
24th August , 1985.
Travelling on the plane of the Japan Asia Airway (JAA), I wrote these words.
Our journey started at yesterday's morning at which I was quite energetic. However, after hours of delay on departure
and restless waiting, we found ourselves exhausted at this moment. I am an athlete of the Hong Kong delegation, 1985's World Universaide.
Our team took the EG232 flight of JAA to Taipei at 10:00a.m. yesterday. Our destination is Osaka, Japan. Taipei is just the transition port. However,
the bad weather (typhoon) in Taipei prevented us from departing on time. We eventually departed on 5:30p.m. The worst is that,
we would have to stay in Taipei for a night with our luaggage already sealed in cabagge of the aircraft. The above trip was recorded in 1985.
In fall of 2006, we reached top of the Ohyama Mount ("Great Mount") in Kanagawa perfecture of Japan.

Investors, I am quite lazy during the New Year holiday
and I find that the computer is running quite slowly
(like me) in the period of time.it takes several
minutes to open up the mail box and sometimes turn
to the "not finding server page", then several
minutes to open the letter, then several minutes to
open up the screen to reply.there might be a lot
of people sharing the cable in the same time?
anyway, I gave up to wait and write to you now.

It is quite a extreme case which the founder is
arrested by giving misleading or false information
to the public but it is quite common for the people
to do so as they want to remain or brow up their
share price.
People usually refuse to provide the actual
information or make the information as vague as
possible, to make the public having the fantasy of
their company but not giving them the real numbers
(they might ask their accountant to do it for them
by compling the rules). Yes, it is quite a misleading but it would be more difficult to gain
the legal evidence to charge them.
This person, Mr. Horie is so young and
inexperience, he knows how to tell stories base on
the fact (by his intelligence), getting money from
the public.so keep on to tell stories by giving
figure for gaining more (it might be due to the
pressure of debt).
the business in the beginning is real and
profitable..and then turning to a balloon with
fantasy inside and what people purchase is a share
of the balloon with high price...
A columist in Hong Kong is saying that the event
tells us that the ethical level of the young in
Japan is lower.to be more aggressive.I don't
know whether it is true or not..but people might be
more aggressive when they are young..but the
ethical level..can we say oh...the young generation
now is getting more freedom, eg. they know their
rights more, it's somehow turning to be that it is
more difficult to establish discipline?
I am not sure whether their accountant is being
charged or not? As Enron, the US company, their
accounting firm is being charged or punished...by
failing to find out the real picture during the
auditing process..seems "not" assisting Enron to
produce their "beautiful picture" by unusual
"calculating methods"..but Enron is their big
client, what can they do? (is their answer)..
I agree that some companies are tricky in calculating
their report. Actually , I think no company tell the
truth. If any do so, I don't think it was kept long.
Recently, I went to a public library and found that it
was noisy during a certain period, for about 1-2
hours. I asked the librarian and they told me that
some sportmen were practising Jundo on the upper
floor. You can imagine how strong they are and they
make the building moving, and vibrating and produced
noise. Japanese building are also strange because
they do not consider that people will have great
movement on any floor.
Dear STEPHEN, Xystal, chsisty, Lion,
Ronald, The livedoor and its former president have
big trouble now. The president was arrested and his
company's stock is one-eight of prices before the
incident. The government is thinking to cancel the
company's stock licence in the market.
I heard that the CUHK have some activity for the
40th anniversary . How was the celebration or
ceremony? Last week, I got cold for 3-4 days. I think
it is some common cold.
