American Friends Of Our Armed Forces is a non-profit organization that
supports the Marines of MCAGCC 29 Palms, CA. My unit was fortunate enough
to receive some of the care packages that were collected by their
outstanding organization. Many of you who received my weekly emails
from Iraq know of the boost in morale that these packages bring.
The picture you see is from a fund raiser held on January 20, 2005.
The man in the center is Walt Van Benthuysen, he and his wife Judy have
been an outstanding supporter of the Marines. In addition they have
treated me like a friend they have known for years. The young man in the
picture is Quentin. Quentin is 10 years old and already a support of AFAF.
This young man went door to door and collected items and $635 to buy
care packages for the Marines deployed in Iraq. Truly an amazing feat
for a 10 year old to take the initiative, time, and dedication to help
