| Mark and MaryAnne Daggett purchased Chestnut Farm from Mark's cousin, R.G. Robinson in 2002. In 2006 we were able to purchase additional acreage that was part of the original Robinson farm. We are focusing on restoring the pastures and, fencing on 70+ acres for use in our rescue program. The farm is home to horses of various breeds at the moment. Some adopted from other rescue programs and some rescued by MaryAnne, who is the local animal control officer. (See our rescue page for before and after photos). In 2006, we were able to find foster and adoptive home for many of the stray dogs in the county as well. We are continuing our rescue and rehab services for horses and dogs in 2007. We also breed, raise and, rescue Nubian and Alpine dairy goats [ and the occassional Pygmy:)]. The herd numbers around 10 does most of the year. Our friends love our goat milk products! There are always chickens around the place along with an assorted hog or two, stray kittens that find their was in and, of course, our best friends, Dessie, the Rott rescue & Diesel, the Dobie rescue plus, the terriers Piddles & Bitsie. |
