| This was a special post-finals sound collage show. I took my last final EVER the day prior to the show, and the previous Saturday after my show, I stuck around for Chris's show, and we ended up doing a huge crazy sound collage for most of the show. I used this show to sort of expand on that collage (literally, because i spent most of it playing clips from it, chopping them up/processing them using Cool Edit, etc.) and just generally having a good time messing around in the studio. I hooked up Studio B as well as the FM studio, so I had double the amount of sound sources available, PLUS I was playing clips from the collage me and Chris did, so at some times there were probably 10 or so sound sources coming in at the same time. So basically, besides the New Order 12"s I played at the beginning and end (New Order is so great!!!) which I played uninterrupted, the tracklist below is basically the sound sources for the collage, although this doesn't include the sound sources from the collage Chris and I did before that I played during this collage. Neither of us wrote down what we played during that one, but off the top of my head I can remember that we played LCD Soundsystem, Christian Fennesz, Konk, Can, Terminal 11, All Sports Band (this one was hysterical), Think, Wesley Willis, an LP of sea shanties, various LPs of German marching bands, a particularly amusing Abbie Hoffman clip, and lots of other things. And these are just the things that I remember playing from the previous collage in this collage. I started off this collage just playing the first half hour or so of the other collage, and gradually adding things, until I felt as if I didn't need to be playing the other collage. So I cut that out and then started using it as an instrument of sorts, chopping up clips in real time. Most of the second hour was basically a single 5 second sample looped and processed to death, along with other stuff. I ended at 3AM and went home because I was tired and because Jared wasn't going to be coming in at 6AM because he has a job this week (!).
