Chess Set from Vista Alegre

 

This one is my favourite.

I can stand hours looking to a single piece.

It's made in fine porcelain and hand painted.

I am trying to know how many sets where made.

The Vista Alegre Museum couldn't give me a number.

I only know that is a very rare set.

 

 

Information fom Vista Alegre Museum

The form study was made in 1962 by Jeanine Hetreau in 1962.

The set represents the Portuguese against the Mourish in the 15 century.

The chess set was produced in 1962 by Vista Alegre.

And there are references in a Sales catalogue from 1964.

So far is all the information i get.
