Dexter’s and Lang Surveying lead league in points

   In round 5 of the Businessmen’s Chess League action at School Street on Wednesday, Dr. Laroche lost its match to fall one point behind Dexter’s Service Center.  Smith’s Awards & Trophies is now tied for second place with Dr. Gonzalez.  Northwest Savings Bank and Dr. Laroche are just half a point behind.

   Lang Surveying widened the gap in the junior varsity section and is now a full point ahead of Smith’s Watch & Clock Repair.  Hamlin Bank is in third place with 10.5 points, and Tasta Pizza is just half a point behind tied with Gravitz & Associates.   

   In the JV division, top-ranked Christopher Borland (Smith’s Watch & Clock Repair) has a full point advantage over Angel Achar (Lang Surveying), who is in second overall.  Nico Alvarado is in third (Lang Surveying), and Caroline Douglas (Gravitz & Associates) is in fourth place.

   Greg Henry (captain for Dexter’s Service Center) remains undefeated in league competition with a perfect 5-0 record.   Ron Buchheit (captain for Dr. Gonzalez) is now in second place with 4 points, and Ryan Ferguson, captain for Smith’s Awards & Trophies, holds third.  Top overall on second board in the varsity section is Austin Laroche playing for Dr. Laroche’s Team, of course.
