JOSEPH SMITH JR.
As a young man Joseph Smith Jr., was confussed about which church he should join. One night young Joseph a 14 year old boy was reading in The Holy Bible as he read a verse in James 1:5 "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given unto him." Never had a scripture of passage hit him so hard so Joseph decided to do as the scripture had said, he knoew he needed guidance from the Lord. Young Jseph wne t inot the woods and kneeled down to pray, then he tells what happens in these words
"When a light rested upon me I saw two peronages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other-- 'This is my beloved son hear ye him.' "
I was told I must not join none of them, for they were all wrong.
Joseph, later was instructed that he would restore the true Church of Jesus Christ to the earth.
Some people find this story of
a young boy to be untrue and not believe it. As I served the Lord in the
Chile Santiago West Mission, I remember the spirit teaching and tesifying
of this wonderful moment that Joseph was able to have with God The Father
and His Son Jesus Christ. I can testify to you that I KNOW these
things to be true as I felt the Spirit of the Lord touch my heart
several times. I know that Joseph DID see God The Father and Jesus Christ.
That Joseph Smith restored the gospel to this earth and he was called of
God to be a Prophet to lead and guide His children to return the truth
of His Gospel to the earth so that we may return to live with him. I know
that Jesus Christ lives and he died for our sins so that we may return
to live with him and our families. I am so greatful for the gospel of Jesus
Christ in my life and the wonderful blessings that I have received from
Him. I say these things humble in the name of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus
Christ Amen.
