| The Death of Common Sense | |||||||||||
| Are you aware that our best friend died recently?
Few attended his funeral or even realized he was gone. His name was Common Sense. His life was devoted to helping other folks to get jobs without fanfare, silly lawsuits and verdicts held no power over him. He was a veteran of all the cultural and educational trends and was not a fan of irresponsiblilty for the actions of one's choosing or "It's all right if it feels good" attitude. He became ill with the zero tolerance policies in the schools; when teachers have to get parents' consent to give an asprin, but can't inform parents when children are given drugs or birth control pills; when our universities turn into pools of life threatening hazing and other propaganda policies of today. He lost his will to live when criminals recieve better treatment than their victims and posting the Ten Commandments became illegal; when some priests and coaches were exposed to be molesting young children under their supervision; when some woman was awarded a huge settlement for not realizing a steaming cup of coffee is hot. He drifted in and out of consciousness on partial birth abortion and when the government, claiming to steadfastly protect the country from terrorist attack, yet allows the same villians to invade through borders and other means of entry that are easily violated, knowing full well what the consequences will be. He died of cardiac arrest caused by vicious contagious disease. He was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust, a daughter, Responsibility and two sons, Diligence and Reason. Survivors include Deception, Greed and Ignorance. He is sadly missed by those who knew him. |
