Matters Arising

Those members wishing to form a branch of the BSAOC assured members that the Cheshire Beezers would be unaffected. Events run by the Cheshire Branch of the BSAOC would be open to all Cheshire Beezers. On the rare occasion when this is not possible all costs would be borne by the members of the Cheshire Branch BSAOC.

Andrew explained the reason for raising membership costs to £2.50 per family. This would enable him to post membership cards to all members, rather than wait, sometimes for weeks, to meet people.

(Item 10 brought forward) To accept the recommendations made in the committee meeting of 9th September.

Proposed: Jean Philcock. Seconded. John Thilwind

Vote: Carried unanimously

Chairman’s Report

Les said how much he had enjoyed time as Chairman, thanked fellow committee members for their work, thanked members for their commitment to our new club and expressed some surprise at how quickly the club had become established.

The report was received with thanks.

7

Treasurer’s Report

Jean stated that the account stood at £222 (all income, no expenditure). Jean was surprised at how much we had managed to raise in such a short period of time. The money had come from memberships, tombola at the Thundersprint, barbecue at Andrew and Eileen’s. Jean explained that the account had been created temporarily in her name whilst signatures and details of identity from other committee members were to be obtained. Next year a more detailed breakdown would be given. Members thanked Jean for her efforts. Agreed unanimously that the accounts were correct.

8

Secretary’s report

Andrew said how much he had enjoyed the year, building the website, going on runs, thanked members for their support and encouragement, appreciated the company of new friends and members.

Andrew was thanked for his work.

13

An other business.

Members expressed interest in a Christmas ‘Do’. Committee said they were already thinking about plans but preferred February as members were more likely to be available. Committee to proceed with the organisation of a function.

The matter of BSAOC Branch affiliation was discussed further. No significant issues emerged. Arrangements fro attendance at the BSAOC Members meeting of 2nd November were discussed. Members encouraged to attend.

The idea of having a runs organiser was raised. At present Andrew has organised most of the runs but anybody is welcome to suggest a venue and make arrangements.

It was suggested a ‘Mileage Recorder’ may be required after affiliation to the BSAOC was confirmed. Agreed to consider this after 2nd November.

Meeting closed 9.45
