| The Raid Part Four |
| Cheryl ran up to the 3rd floor looking for Kady. Finally she found an open door and she looked in. Kady was shifting through a pile of boxes that did contain some old scrolls but not the scroll of immortality. "You won't find it Kady." Cheryl said. Kady looked up, startled. She said nothing. "Theres a spell on the scroll. I'm the only one left who can find it. It was a family secret." Cheryl said. She remembered reading about it in an old scroll left for her by her uncle. "You don't need the scroll, dear. Just come downstairs so we can figure out how to save our home. You are willing to fight aren't you?" Cheryl asked. She felt sorry for the girl, but not the same sorry as pity. This girl had been through so much in her short life. It was hard to get through to her. Hercules appeared behind Cheryl. "Kady come on. Listen to Cheryl. The scroll won't do anything for you or Ares. Just come down okay?" Herc said. Kady just gazed at Cheryl and Hercules for the longest time. This wasn't her home, but would gladly fight but not for her benefit but for the cadets who wanted to be there. She refused to allow the blood to flow honoring her father's entrance into the world or become a weapon for Ares even if he was her grandfather. She was only trying to help make it harder for Ares or anyone else to find the scroll. It had been a short life she lived so far but a rough evil path she had been forced to take due to Dahok's influence.Kady was hoping to maybe do something right to maybe gain the trust of the ones who fear and doubted in her sincerity of change. Reluctantly she stepped toward Hercules still not saying a word but had about a few since she first came there and extremely careful ones so not to trigger any anarchy of risks involving the innocent lives of the cadets. The demi-god wrapped his arms around the shaken girl tightly. "Its alright. I won't let Ares get you. He has no right to have your respect or trust." Herc growled angrily totally disgusted by most of the gods manner as was his great niece who like him was considered an outcast. "It will be okay I promise." Cheryl smiled softly. "We better get back downstairs." "So does anyone have any ideas?" Cheryl asked after the three of them had come back into the courtyard. There were a couple blank faces. "Ok. What I already did, is send a message to my tribe to see if they would come and help. I sent Morgan, my hawk, with it and he should be back here soon." Cheryl said. "Okay, how I see it is that we are most likely surrounded by the warlords armies. Does anyone know how many warlords there are combined in this?" Nicole asked. "I'm guessing about 3. They most likely all serve Ares." Jason said. "So thats 3 armies surrounding us." Cheryl groaned. This was unbelievable! "Maybe. They might have not brought their entire troops. Just their best men." Jason said. "Only their best you know." Iolaus said sarcastically. "Well then does anyone have an ideas for the attack?" Cheryl asked., hoping for an answer."I know this is stupid, but, shall we divide the cadets into 3?" He shifted comfortably. "We should be able to attack them from the front. A surprise attack. They might not think that we would do that, so, most likely their guard would be down. They would think that we would wait for them to attack first..." Hercules turned to look at Nickolas, the new cadet, and nodded. "That is a HUGE risk, buddy..." "The risk that we all usually take..." Iolaus continued. "CHERYL...?" All of them turned to look at her. "Any other ideas?" Megara asked looking intently at her. "That does sound like the best plan." Cheryl said. "And hopefully with the help of my tribe, it will work." Cheryl said. Just than Morgan, Cheryl's hawk came flying in. Tied to his leg was a note. Cheryl took the note off and silently read: Cheryl~ I know this is not what you want to hear, but this is the tribes decision. We apologize but we will not help you in this battle. This is your own battle, which you must face with just you and your cadets. May the gods watch over you your mother, Fantine Cheryls face fell by the time she finished reading. "They're not coming." Cheryl said softly. "So, we can do this by ourselves!" Hercules said confidently. "Okay let me think for sec." Cheryl said and everyone was quiet for a few minutes. "Since we are too small to separate off, I think we should separate and conquer. meaning we section off each of the enemy by distractions and wat not and defeat them. But instead of killing them all off, as Ares would want, we should capture them and bring them back here. We can hold them captive and then decide what to do with them. But first we need a couple scouts. We need to know our enemies exact whereabouts. The ones who don't scout stay here and get armor and weapons ready. Anyone willing to scout? We need a couple to cover different areas." Cheryl said and looked at everyone expectantly. "I'll help!" Meg replied as she moved towards Cheryl. "Oh, no you don't!" Replied Nickolas softly. Megara eyed on him questionly. "Since when did I take orders from you?" Nickolas sighed and turned to face Cheryl. "If she goes, I'll go too" "I thank you." Cheryl said to the rather new cadets. "We could use another person. Anyone else?" Cheryl said looking around. "I'll go." Vanira said standing up. Cheryl nodded and Vanira joined the other two. Hercules also stood up and joined the group, which now made four. "Okay you four come with me. The rest of you, there are more proper weapons that you may use, if you don't have your own sword and stuff. You will find them in the closet by the cafeteria. You all also need to grab whatever armor you can find here and your own and bring it into the inside training area. You ALL must meet there when you have your stuff to organize and get ready." Cheryl said. "You four, come with me." Cheryl said and led them to her office. The rest of the cadets scattered about following Cheryl's orders. |
