7/16/02 Caitlin had another checkup yesterday. Her ANC is 1730 and things are looking real good. She's now 6 months off treatment, so they ended her antibiotic that she has been taking on the weekends. She is now officially off all medications. Her doctors are very pleased with her progress and told us to keep doing what we've been doing. As promised, I have finally updated the picture page of our site. There are a lot of new pictures there, so when you have some time, check them out. You'll be amazed at how big the girls have got. That's all for now.
8/14/02 Caitlin had another regular monthly checkup and everything was fine. Her ANC is in the 3000 - 4000 range, which is really good. Hopefully it's a sign that her immune system is fully recovered from the effects of the chemotherapy that she received. She'll be starting kindergarten soon and I know she's looking forward to that. I'll let you know how's she doing in school during my next update. Hope this finds everybody healthy and happy. Look for a new update soon.
10/17/02 - Caitlin has had 2 checkups since my last update. Both of them were good, with her ANC being 4200 on her last visit. She has started kindegarten and lost her 2 front teeth since my last update. She is growing up so fast. She really loves school and yesterday was the first child in afternoon kindergarten to receive an ICare coupon. They're given out to kids who are doing real well in school, both learning and behaving. Mom and Dad are so proud of her. On a sad note, my triathlon coach was killed recently when a car pulled out in front of her as she was doing her morning bike training. She was the most incredible person that you would ever want to meet and was loved by many. Do a search on Suzy Mayoral Blanton and read what people all around the country had to say about her. Suzy, you will be forever in our hearts. Rock On. That's all for now. I'll update again soon.
01/09/03 - Sorry for the delay in updating. It's been a busy few months. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday and the new year is off to a good start. Caitlin had a checkup December 30th and everything was great. Her ANC was 3050 and everything else was fine as well. She's doing so well in fact, that have moved her to the 2 month schedule, which means she only has to go to the doctors every other month. This made all of us very happy. January 28th marks the 1 year anniversary of Caitlin going off treatment. It's gone by so fast that we can hardly believe. We're very happy that she continues to do so well. That's all for now. More updates soon.
02/27/03 - Caitlin had another regular checkup on Monday February 24th and everything was great. Her ANC was 6000, which was slightly elevated, and was due to the fact that she's fighting a cold and a fever. The doctors think she looks great and can't believe how much she's grown. She is 44-1/2" tall and weighs 44-3/4lbs. She turned 6 on February 13th and her little sister, Callie, turned 3 on February 25th. They're both currently taking dance class and have their recital in June. This is Caitlin's 2nd year and Callie's 1st year of dance. They're both considered really good students in their respective classes, which of course makes Mom & Dad proud. Caitlin is also doing great in kindergarten and is one of the better students. She even has awards to prove it. That's all for now. I'll update again soon.
06/19/03 - Sorry for the long delay in updating the page. Caitlin has been doing great. She's now 45" tall and weighs 45lbs. She's growing up so fast. She just finished kindergarten and is looking forward to a fun summer vacation. She has lost 5 teeth since my last update, so the tooth fairy has been busy visiting our house. Caitlin & Callie both have their dance recitals this weekend so hopefully I'll be able to get some pictures posted soon. We recently rewarded ourselves with the purchase of a new boat. For those of you who live in the Mid Atlantic region, we'll accept blame for all the rain we're getting. It's rained something like 43 out of 50 days since May 1st. Can't even get the boat in the water. That's all for now. I'll update again soon.
08/11/03 - Caitlin had another checkup today. Her ANC is 2780, she's 45" tall and weighs 46 1/2lbs. She's been swimming, learned to ride her bike without training wheels, went to Disney World and even pet a Manatee in the wild. She's starting soccer this week and seems really excited about it. She's had a great summer but I think she's ready to get back to school. She will be in the first grade this year, which will be her first time of having full day school. She loves school so I know she'll do great. I'll update again soon.
