....my name is Cherian John and I am from Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala, India).

I am working as a Software Engineer at US Software in TechnoPark Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala, India). I am involved in the Internal Tools Development Division of the company. I am involved in working with XML, PHP, Javascript and MySQL in Linux Environment.

I did my four years of engineering studies in Computer Engineering at College of Engineering, Chengannur(1998-2002). I did my schooling at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, Thiruvananthapuram (Std.7 ,Std.9-Std.12), Holy Cross School, Salem (Std.8), St.Gregorious School, Chengannur(Std.4-Std.6) and St.Anees School, Chengannur (Std.1-Std.3).

Now regarding my computer education, I started with programming in BASIC at the school level. Later I moved on to C++ during the second semester of Computer Engineering. I also underwent a course on programming in Java at APTECH Center.

As the part of the B.TECH. Degree course we implemented the cM@il System (which included three server-side programs and a client-side program) for the mini-project of 6th semester. Our project-team consisted of Bini Mary Thomas, Jency Chakkummoottil, Rajagopal K and myself.

The topic that I have taken for the seminar of 7th semester is " Linux in Real-time and Embedded Systems".

As the part of the B.TECH. Degree course completion we implemented the NMS - Network Management System(based on SNMP protocol). The programming was done on RH7 Linux machine. It was based on C language and GTK for the front end. It was developed for Wipro Infotech Chennai. Our project-team consisted of Bini Mary Thomas, Jency Chakkummoottil, Rajagopal K and myself.It was really an experience doing such a big and complex system
