My addiction to bunnies began at age 7 when I acquired my first bunny from a neighbor
who told me the litter was "FREE" to a good home.   How could I resist such a bargain??  Well, soon after, I had my mom convinced that my solitary little bunny needed a friend...soooooo.... as I'm sure you may already have guessed....the rest became
history!!    The years that followed made me fully aware of the fact that I had become
one of the many "bunny victims" destined  to never again be "FREE" of these warm,
gentle and adorable creatures who can steal your  heart away with just  one look!
There is something about those long droopy ears and the round, flat puppy dog face
of a Holland Lop which makes them irresistible.  As I watch my hollands run around the
house or in their cage, with their ears flopping up and down, I can't help being amused
by their antics.  I have even experienced several occasions where people mistook
hollands for puppies because of their unusual ear carriage!  On one such occasion,
I had black and white baby hollands with me in a box when I went to pick up my daughter
at the mall movie theater.   As children and adults walked out from the theater,
(coincidentally, after watching 101 Dalmations!), everyone looked into the box of bunnies
and made comments about what cute Dalmation puppies I had!

Holland Lops are sweet, charming, affectionate and small enough for a child to handle,
even after the bunny becomes an adult.  Unlike other pets that can disturb your neighbors, rabbits very rarely utter a sound, unless they are in a life threatening situation or in
extreme pain.  One of the traits I enjoy the most about my Holland Lops is their inquisitive
and curious nature.  They seem to have a genuine interest in their owners and will bond
quite easily with them if treated gently.  Some of my bunnies actually recognize my voice
when I talk to them, while I've watched the same bunnies shy away from strangers.  I selectively breed for quiet, gentle temperaments, and it is this type of personality  that
will flourish with attention, causing the true characteristics of the Holland Lop to emerge.
Your bunny will never cease to amaze you  with its curiousity, astound you with its
playfullness and warm you with its innocence and heart felt joy for life!!
