The 1-week holiday in Rhodes was a new experience to Cherub, because it's totally unlike the tours that I had joined before. Instead of having a tour guide to take care of everything, I had to go on my own and plan for the activities. This holiday was completely "lazy" and "free". To tell the truth, I prefer this type of tour to the hasty one because it allows me to really "know" the place instead of just rushing the hot tourist spots.
The 5-hours flight from Glasgow to Rhodes was really frightening because there was turbulence throughout the flight. When the plane landed safely at last, all passengers clapped their hands!!!
The place we were staying in Rhodes was called Lindos. I and my two sisters rented a greek style white house under the acropolis that faced the Mediterranean. An enchanting view that one would never forget!!!
Rhodes is a place full of sunshine. It is said that 300 out of the 365 days a year are sunny days. Cherub was so afraid of getting tanned that I put on the sun lotion from head to toe whenever going outdoor. The water melon sun lotion was soooooooo sweet that it made Cherub attractive to the.............BIG BEES!!!!! If you plan to go there, make sure you make a sensible choice.
We spent 3 days wandering in the city center of Rhodes - the Rhodes Town. The first day we took a taxi and the taxi-driver was so enthusiastic to show us the place that he nearly forgot to hold tight the steering wheel while busy pointing at the map!!! Anyway, he was really nice. Indeed the people we met in Rhodes were all so nice that, I almost thought they were all representatives from the tourist association!!!!
Except BIG BEES, there were also many big cats there. I was a bit afraid of them, esp. when they always went in group near the house we stayed.
APOLLO is my favourite among all Greek gods. In Rhodes, there is a relic of Apollo. I didn't miss it of course!! Here is what once the grand temple for Apollo. Just add some imagination and you will find it a great construction.
