What is Community HealthCorps?
The Community HealthCorps is a national AmeriCorps service program that links medically underserved populations and communities with culturally appropriate preventive and primary health care.  Community HealthCorps members:

*Provide outreach and support to medically underserved children and    familes;
 
*Improve access to quality health care for uninsured and newly insured  individuals and families, especially childre;

*Reduce unnecessary utilization of hospital ERs and in-patient beds        through educating parents on healthcare needs, monitoring patient             charts and schduling necessary appointments.

*Become a valuable auxiliary to the community-based health service       network.

 
Since 1995, HealthCorps members have linked over 66,800 community residents to quality health care!
