23rd October

In AM had a small snack for brekkers of bacon, egg, beans, rolls, coffee, etc . Then Tommy went in search of a plane. Quite difficult but eventually he found one for Thursday and chartered wheels till then. Dom and I saw J Class at Texaco dock
and arranged gas refill. Then to Elcorte for hamburger, with Dan and I surfing the net for a while.

Dan washed oilskins then meal of roast lamb and chocky pudding .
Bed early again . Let me tell you this, life is exhausting.

24th October

Sked this morning dominated by the fabulous Pam on board Nightowl. We managed to bully our way in on a chat to Wandering Dream who are due in Las Palmas tomorrow, after spending the night in the Salvage Isles.

 Malcolm as usual requires to be prodded but coaxed him into the car. We visited south of island  to Masolpotumous and then came back via the
mountains. Ice cold on top of hill and didn't linger. In evening after a fresh salad Dom insisted on playing Monopoly. Dom eventually welched on deal  with Tommy and then threw his hand in. This is dispassionately reported on by Malcolm who witnessed the disgraceful scene.

Ammendment to log  no such deal was struck although I (Dom) can report that money
was stolen from me at around the same time by the aforementioned Tommy.

Tommy away driving the North of the island. WE awaited Wandering Dream and other's arrival.

26th October

In Las Palmas. In AM in town and wandered. Then to meet at Sheehan's Irish Pub for lunch but alas it was closed. 6pm Tommy went away and then Erwan's arriving at 2130. Huge party on pontoons till approx 0600 with singing etc.

27th October
After the party last night I managed about three hours sleep and was woken by Malcolm who wanted to play with Diesel - just what I needed to cure a schnapps hangover. Afternoon spent having trolley races at the local hyper Dino. Back on board Cherry for drinks with Dave from Excalibur and bumped into Sandie and Andy (the double act from Hecuba) from Veverio all those months before.
The Dreamers arrived for supper and we played a drinking  game called Perudo which all got  a little messy. Cracking night good fun, planning the Rival match race across the Atlantic. Also in the piepline was a formal dinner at an upper class eatery   MacDonalds. Seems this was the general consensus!!

28th October

Away in the car around the NW of the island . Lunch in small village near Deos, a natural stone sculpture which was not particularly impressive. Then frantic
trip back round the island on the curvy roads. Almost late for drinks with Sandy and Andrew from Hecuba . 3 bottles of wine and 18 cans later we had Curried Lamb and rice for tea. Dom and Dan out on the town and elsewhere . Dom back 0830, mmmm

Well arrived back a little early or late depending on how you look at it mistakenly said "morning" to Chaz on Night Owl as I came back to the boat - this proved an unfortunate meeting as when I surfaced some hours later the whole pontoon new I
had been out till the early hours and happily took the mickey all day. Malcolm explored the town on his own and ventured into the old quarter which by his accout was very interesting. Late supper and to bed by 11 just as the hangover arrived!

30th October

To Elcorte by car for water, milk and orange juice. Then for lunch and back to boat. Visited Colin at 6pm amid farewells from Phil and Jill and The
Beags both going south on 31st . Phil and Jill are spending xmas in Martinique and The Beags in
Grenada.
Then out for dinner  to restaurant with pontoon 17 and singing till all hours on Night Owl, aptly named you may say

31st October
Up george doors after 4 hours of sleep following another great night of partying.
Off driving with Malc at the helm for the first time on the trip so far - he truly is a nightmare.

I've done some wild things in my life so far, oceans, deserts, mountains throwing myself off bridges
blah blah, but this drive from Las Palmas took the biscuit - he even nearly managed to run down
my parents who we met at their resort.

He then preceded to scrape the car while parking......what a bloke !!
After this eventful start to the day met my folks and had a great afternoon in their Hotel. Caught up on all the news and gossip from home then I drove up the motorway to meet Fi and the gang. Had supper with them all then back to Cherry for some
cracking sleep. Here cleaned boat furiously all day visited internet.
