Wednesday Art Classes

Wednesday Afternoon Art classes are offered though the PTA for 90 minutes between 1:20 – 2:50p.m. The teacher is an artist and a very experienced art teacher, having taught formal art classes to children for many years, at Seattle County Day, South Seattle College, Bellevue Youthlink and for the Bellevue Parks and Recreation Arts Program. The program comprises either a watercolor and drawing program or a cartooning class.

The watercolor and drawing program includes learning to draw and to use watercolors through use of a combination of forms including still life, pictures and your child’s imagination. The focus will be to introduce your child to basic techniques of drawing and watercolor use, with emphasis on design elements, shading, shapes and colors.

The cartooning class includes learning about animation techniques, sketching and drawing and watching cartoons.

The art program is strictly a class for aspiring artists; children who are not interested in learning art seriously will be disruptive to others and should not be enrolled for this program. Also, there is a minimum age to register for this class; only 2nd graders and older may sign up.

Please contact the PTA for information about class registration and fees.
