I am, first and foremost, an entertainer, female illusionist and drag performer. I also truly love designing costumes,
gowns and other wardrobe items for entertainers.
[New update: 12/30/05..... For the last several months, the Driftwood Lounge has been closed. Since no one in the know has come forward to pass on any real info, there is nothing definate aside from it simply being closed indefinately. This is a loss to the local club scene as well as the fact that the DW has been a gay/alternative venue here and mainstay of our community for many, many years, since openning it's doors back in 1972. Anywho, until futher notice it is now and will remain closed. We all due bid farewell to the old girl as she allowed many performers to strut their stuff across her stages and many, as well as a couple that made the big time, due have very fond memories as the DW being their "home bar".]
I do many of my shows
at the Driftwood Lounge in Huntington, WV. The club is located at 1121 7th Ave. While their hours
are from 5:30pm-closing daily, the shows on the weekend generally begin at aprox. 11:30pm. It is
a fun place that has two bars, both downstairs and upstairs in the Beehive Lounge. The upstairs
is only open on the weekends.
The club is owned and operated by a truly lovely man, Larry Ransbottom
, (who I wish to thank for being so good to all of us entertainers over the years and allowing us to have a venue
such as the DW that lets us showcase our talents and to bring our ideas to the stage!!) and his staff, which includes;
Jimmy H. (ahhhhh Jimmy the master of the liberal libations and the
zen daddy of all times!!), mixing up a myrid of liquid lovelies that will get your mind set to full
on for an evening entertainment that is hard to match anywhere!!!
Ed K., the hottie with the really big..... er, ahhhh, hands (heheheee, yeahhh ok, i know what you were
thinking!!)!! He will mix your favorite potent potables just the way you like them!!
Dave is the weekend table waiter and all around man friday (and saturday and sunday and and and... heheheheee)
and he will most certainly take care of your needs, right at your table, to save your legs for the dance floor!!!
Dale works the door on the weekends and also does double duty helping out in the dj booth from time to time. Please say I said to say helloooo.
Ahhhhhhh and then there is Gordon E., aka; MC Kraka Honkey, aka; DJGFORCE, but all you have to remember is, he's
our very own Gordy!! Now, Gordon is our DJ, but oh soooo much more!! He mixes up some of the hottest dance mixes for
the between shows dancing and also works with the gurls on making their sets go, oh soooo well!! His microphone work
is only equal to his mixing talents!! He is sure to get your ears happy, your heart racing and your feet moving!!!
And he is also an acomplished web designer, graphic artist and music producer, wow, busy man!!! While your there, make
sure to not only enjoy your time with your bar and wait staff, but also say hellooooo to Gordon up in the dj booth and
show him your appreciation!! Tell him Cherri said to say; Helloooooo!!
I truly love entertaining and always try to do new and cutting edge performances to give you, the audience, the very best show that I can.
The regular gurls that I perform with are such lovely, acomplished performers and well go all out to
truly entertain each and everyone of you!!
Our show directress at the DW, is a lovely lady named, Julia Deville!!
She works very hard to set up each show to make sure that you are given the best in entertainment and also,
heads up the show's to boot!!!
There are a number of other ladies on hand each show night that are all wonderful
and really do go all out for you!!
Now of course there are many, many guest performers that we always love seeing come to share
the night with us that come from all over the state!!
I am now doing shows at the Polo Club located at their new location on the corner of 11th street and 7th Ave. in Huntington, Wv.
Bill who owns and operates the Polo and his staff are sooo very inviting
and warm to all their patrons and performers alike.
Todd C. is the friday and sunday mix-ologist and "keeper of the queens", heheheee (just kidding, well a bit anyway.)
Rabbit works as the bar back and helps out serving when it gets busy.
Brendar is the house dj and keeps the place moving with some very hot tunes and during the shows, with Trixie
on the mic, they keep the shows rolling along nicely.
Now as to the entertainers there, Trixie Daily is the show director and headliner. JoAnne Morgan, who is a mainstay
in the local drag world for, well let's just say; more than a few years now. And a number of very talented gurls that
tear it up on both friday and saturday nights!!
The Polo is quite unique in this area, as it's both the oldest gay club in town and also their shows start quite early.
Usually the shows start around 10pm, so it's best to arrive at the club fairly early. Most of the gurls do 2-3 sets and
really give a fantastic show.
Wow, the hottest woman in West Virginia are born biological males!!!! WHOOOOOO HOOOOOOO!!
