| This is my kakejiku (scroll). I bought this intending to give it as a christmas gift, but it looked so good in my apartment I decided to keep it. It says, "Amaterasuomikami" that is the Japanese Sun Goddess. If you can read Japanese you may be a little confused as to why the "Nou" kanji is in there. Well I found out that they sometimes put it in Amaterasu's name just to make it more impressive. You pronounce it as if it wasn't there. If you can't read Japanese you have no clue about what I just said. |
