| When I first got to Japan I had to go to Tokyo for three days of orientation. It really sucked. Spent most of my days sweating in a suit with a hang-over. I was really surprised how nice Tokyo was. It was much cleaner and classier than other cities in Japan, except for Kyoto. |

| While teaching at Matsubara 6th Junior High I had to do two elementary school visits. The first at Higashi (East) Elementary and the second at Minami (South) Elementary School. It was a blast. I did not take pictures of the first visit, but here are some pictures from the visit to Minami Elementary. |

| This was my first school. I taught here from September to December of 2000. |

| Well I finally found a local drinking hole to call my own. It's called Fuchan's and its right down the road from my place. The people are amazing and accepted me with open arms. |

| Sakura (cherry blossoms) viewing is like the Fourth of July in America. There are huge festivals where people gather to relax and view the trees. Some say the sakura's bloom and fall are representative of the fraility of human life, but I just think they're pretty. |

| Kabuki is a traditional Japanese drama. In Nagaham City they have an annual festival in which children perform on floats. Here are pictures of the parade the night before the festival. All the performers are boys. |
