| *Hanging By A Moment By: Cherish Magnolia Oh my gosh tonight we got this awesome gig at the 5 & dime. My band has been trying so hard to play there. Its only the coolest place in the whole wide world and record people are going to be there, too. This could be our huge break. I prayed today that something totally stellar and spectacular would happen. So it might. Well tonights the night and Im here at the 5& dime writing. Youre never going to guess what happened. 15 minutes before we go on and Mike loses his voice. I told him not to have that milkshake at Wojos but no he just had to have it. Boys. Cant live with them Cant live without em. So we were scrounging around for somebody I can sing this duet with. And all of a sudden Susie came in all out of breath and she grabbeds me by my hand. She did all but drag me outside. I was about to ask her what the hell but my words got caught in my throat. And I just stood there mesmerized and listened to this beautiful song and voice. The music stopped and Susie and I applauded. A mop of shoulder lengthed brown hair rose and turned and blue eyes met mine. Red tinged his cheeks. I was in a daze. Susie nudged me. This time I was the one blushing. Say something. She whispered between clenched teeth. Um hi. OH my gosh thats so stupid. He smiled shyly, one of those big toothy smiles. Hes got perfect teeth. Hi. He said smile still burning bright. Our eyes met yet again. His blue eyes connected with my brown eyes. I swear I felt sparks fly wonder if he felt it too. Susie nudged me again but this time its more like a punch. Ask him, ask him. She mumbled again. Ask me what? His deep sexy voice responded. He kinda sounds like Kevin Richardson. Were about to go on stage!!! Lance screamed. You wanna sing with us?Susie spat out. And he said You mean like on stage with all those people staring at me? He played with his skull ring and this silver band as beads of sweat form on his forehead. Itll be alright. I said trying to comfort him. Will you sing with me? He asked politely. A light bulb went on over my head. Yeah, theres a duet that we can sing together. Well duh. So we ran to the stage and we sang the most beautiful song. Our voices just I dont know how else to explain this. It was like our voices made love to each other and blended into one as we sung, ** Desperate for changing Starving for truth Closer to where I started chasing after you I'm falling even more in love with you letting go of all I've held onto I'm standing here until you make me move I'm hanging by a moment here with you Forgetting all I'm lacking Completely Incomplete I'll take your invitation you take all of me now i'm falling even more in love with you letting go of all i've held on to I'm standing here until you make me move I'm hanging by a moment here with you I'm living for the only thing I know I'm running and I'm not quite sure where to go and I don't know what I'm diving into just hanging by a moment here with you There is nothing else to lose There is nothing else to find There is nothing in the world that could change my mind There is nothing else... desperate for changing starving for truth I'm closer to where I started I'm chasing after you I'm falling even more in love with you letting go of all I've held onto I'm standing here until you make me move I'm hanging by a moment here with you I'm living for the only thing I know I'm running and not quite sure where to go and I don't know what I'm diving into just hanging by a moment here with you... ** I moved closer to the mic but most of all closer to him. I looked over at him and his eyes were closed and my eyelids dropped. Hanging by the moment. The music stopped but we are still singing. We must have been up there for about 10 minutes more than we were supposed to. My eyes fluttered open and I looked at him. He was still singing and I smiled slowly. His eyes flickered open and we were staring into each others eyes. Lost in his eyes yet again. I heard a roar and stared out at the audience. They were all standing and clapping and even tears rolled down some porcelain cheeks and rugged beardy ones, too. Whoa. I heard a deep sexy voice say. I just nodded. We just stood there and radiated. We stood there until they made us move. Cherish Magnolia 2001 |
