Arrival:
The school begins at 8:30am. All the students should arrive at the school no later than 8:20am each morning. To ensure your child is arriving safely to their destination, please bring your child to the door so that it is ensured that they have arrived in the building and been seen by a teacher. If your child needs to be at the school earlier please see the Before and After School Care page in the handbook. (Due to safety precautions, your child cannot enter the building until the locked entrance doors are answered. Please make sure your child is admitted safely into the school).
Pick Up:
Parents may begin picking up their children at 2:45pm. School is out at 2:45pm. The teacher will be in the classroom with the children to be sure that they are received safely to their parent/guardian. Children not picked up by 3:00pm, and in the homework/tutoring group, will be placed in the after school program for a fee. If you need after school care please see Bill Booze at Wee Cherish.
As a state chartered school, our school receives the benefit of public bus transportation IF your home is located within 30 minutes/miles of the school. If a school district chooses not to provide bus transportation, a family might be eligible for a transportation allowance (a financial stipend to cover the cost of transportation). Parents should either do arrangements for bus transportation or the transportation allowance directly with the bus director of the public school district.
There is a bus that runs through Rolling Hills and also one through Cambridge City Schools. You must contact the bus garage of the school and check on the availability of these services.
***Anyone not previously authorized to pick up your child (i.e. divorced or separated situation) must serve the school with a certified copy of the court order.
***Cherish Christian Academy will NOT dismiss a child to anyone that has not been cleared by a parent/guardian and they must present a photo i.d. with a note from the parent.
