HANDBOOK INDEX
                                                         Attendance

There are a total of 180 days of school in the school year.  Your child needs to be in class in order to learn.  Absences are never desired and always discouraged.  Students who have an excessive number of absences will miss out on a large percentage of the learning process at our school.  Student absences will be monitored by the principal.  We will follow the state truancy policy on reporting excess days.  More than 10 days in a 9 week period require reporting.

When your child is sick or needs to be out for any reason, the parent MUST call the school as soon as possible.

Students need to be their rooms, ready to learn, by 8:30am and will not be dismissed to their parent before 2:30pm unless arrangements have been made.

Excused Absences

In the state of Ohio six reasons are recognized for excused absences by students:
Personal Illness     Quarantine
Illness of immediate family   Religious Holiday
Assist parents in emergency work   A death in the family

Regular attendance is important for good student progress and character building.  Students are to be in school and on time for school every day possible.

1. Parents should notify the school office by 10:00am of a childs absence.

2. Students arriving back at the school without a parent note, or a call, will receive an unexcused absence.

3. Students missing part of the school day will not be charged with an absence.  A child will be charged with a partial absence if they leave before 10:00am.
