Day 4

Today was a very laid back and lazy day for us.  We slept late and drank our fill of tea and coffee before starting out our day.  This was a large change sense we left home on Friday.  As we sat around enjoying our lazy morning a herd of deer strolled through the pine trees that we enjoy from our deck.  Needless to say I was totally unprepared and ran around looking for my camera and I did manage to catch a few shots.  That motivated us to get moving and looking for the many elk that roam the park.

We decided to explore the park.  We wanted to see the elk and see how high they would let us go.  The snow was beautiful, it looked like someone sprinkled powdered sugar on everything.  With the new snow we didn't get very high, so we started the hunt for elk pictures.  We found many, one herd almost ran over us.  We got some great shots.

It was then back to town for shopping and lunch.  We found great prices and a couple of new stores.  Lunch was killer Mexican.  In years past we have heard of a Estes Park city Museum and we decided to find it this years and explore.  It was fun to see some of the history of this wonderful place in photographs.  They even had a Stanly Steamer on display, along with a log cabin and the first Ranger station that was in the park.  I hope you enjoy a few of the photos we took today.
