Some of the items that I have crocheted (please wait for photos to load)
The two Irish Crochet butterflies (photos above & below) were made from antique patterns.
If you join Irish_Crochet_Lovers located at Yahoo Groups, you will find the instructions for these two butterflies in the files section.
The butterfly instructions can now also be found at http://www.antiquepatternlibrary.org .  Look for the AWB Crochet Book, in the booklist.  It's available free in PDF format.  Enjoy!
The above/left Garfield afghan was one of the most difficult things I think I 've ever crocheted.  I'd never attempted color changes before...  What a tangle!!!  I did finally get a system going as to how to handle/delete all the twisting of the yarn together.  (turn clockwise when turning work from front to back, turn counter-clockwise when turning work from back to front)

The above/right "Stone Lace Curtain" comes from the Annie's Attic booklet named "The International Collection of Crochet Patterns".  I varied from the curtain's instructions by adding a curly tassel to the bottom of each 'mile-a-minute' strip of the curtain.  (You can see a curly tassel above FunnyFace's right ear in the photo.)  I also added crocheted loops to the top of each curtain strip so that I could slip the curtain onto a cafe curtain rod.
A Green Butterfly?? Yes. They do exist.
The light color in the wings is really
light green
crochet thread.  I just couldn't get the camera and lighting to co-operate..
Here we have a green butterfly. I asked a  co-worker what her favorite color was.  She said green, and her eyes immediately went to my crocheted butterfly collection on my bulliten board.  Well, I had to do some research to see if there was such a thing as a green butterfly - there is.  This pattern is Lee Ann Hamm's butterfly with a few variations.  The body is different, and the bottom of the wings are shaped more like one type of a living green butterfly.  A "google photo search" will show you several green butterflies.
Lee Ann Hamm's crocheted butterfly can be found at http://www.premier.net/~lhamm/buttrfly.htm
Compared to Lee Ann's butterfly, the body on the green butterfly is narrower on row 9 (4 sc instead of 6 sc). The head is 2 stitches fuller. The bottom wing ends with 2 trcs, 3 dtrs and 3 trtrs, all in the space, with the last picot on wing changed to a chain 5 or 6 loop, with 10 sc over it.
This is also Lee Ann Hamm's butterfly with the above mentioned variations.
