Size 7 or 8 crochet hook
Chain 9, join.
1. Chain 3, 2 dc, chain 2, 3 dc, all in circle. Chain 4, turn.
2. In chain 2 space make: 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc, ch 2, & 2 dc. Trc in top loop of ch 4 from previous row. Chain 4, turn.
3. In next chain 2 space make 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc. In next ch 2 space make 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc. Trc in top loop of ch 4 from previous row. Ch 4, turn.
4 & 5: Repeat row 3.
6: In next chain 2 space make 2dc, ch 2. Skip 3 dc. 6 trc in center (between 2 groupings of 3 dc). Chain 2. In next chain 2 space make 2 dc. Trc in top loop of ch 4 from previous row. Ch 4 turn.
7, 8 & 9: Repeat row 3.
10: Repeat row 6.
11, 12 & 13: Repeat row 3.
14: Repeat row 6
15, 16 & 17: Repeat row 3.
18: 2 dc in first ch 2 space, ch 2. In center space make 1 trc, 1 drtrc, 1 trtrc, 1 drtrc & 1 trc. Chain 2. 2 dc in next ch 2 space. Trc in top loop of ch 4 from previous row.
For edging:
Ch 1.
** 4 sc in next loop.
Then in next loop put (2 sc, ch 3, slst in top of ch 3, 1sc).**
Repeat between **�s to next to bottom side loop. 3 dc in this loop. 5 sc over starting circle. Chain 30. Skip 3 chains. Put 4 dc in each of next 21 chains. Ch1. 3 Sc over side of last dc. Slst at base of dc. Slst up last 6 chains. Slst in top of sc on starting circle. 5 sc in starting circle. Then continue up side of bookmark in pattern, but reversing to: 1 sc, picot, 2 sc (to make even). At top make 2 sc in ch 2 space, picot, sc in next 3 stitches. Ch4, join in a picot, ch 5 and join in a picot, ch 4 and join in a picot. Join in base of 1st picot. Slst in top of sc below. Sc in next 2 stitches, sc in space ch3 picot, sc in same space, join. Fasten off.
