Nashville Shower - May 14th: (Laurie Morra)

Cherie's first shower was held on May 14, 2001, in Nashville. After an endless search for the perfect location to hold the "gala," we hit upon it. The bride really loved the spot we settled on -- their new house! Furniture was in place, pictures were on the wall, the kitchen was all set up -- it all looked great -- unbelievable that she just moved in two weeks before! The party was hosted by Cherie's sister, Cathy, and the other bridesmaids were happy to help out. Mom P. was in town for the special evening which only enhanced Cherie's joy.The shower menu was a little unconventional -- chinese food from one of Cherie's favorite restaurants! Of course, with the Paliotta's Italian heritage, "abundanza" was the word for the night -- there was enough food for an army! Add to the menu Mom's fabulous fruit salad and a delicious cake, and we all left stuffed to the gills.

About 25 people from all parts of Cherie's life mingled together to celebrate the special occasion. Some fun games kept the ball rolling. Did you ever think of pinning the lips on the groom? Neither did we, but we laughed alot as everyone tried to zero in on the picture of Kevin with the lip stickers! There was "Cherie's Bridal Bingo" and a contest to see who could not say "Cherie," "Kevin," or "wedding" the whole night. Great prizes were given out -- for a while it looked like guests might end up fighting it out over who got to take the prizes home!

Cherie and Kevin received many beautiful gifts from decorative items to bake ware to towels and more. Boy, was it great not to have to load up the car to take them home! The night went off without a hitch, and Cherie was very appreciative of how special everyone made her feel.
