The Wall

Open my heart and you will find

a hideous mess where love once was.

It is now closed and under lock and key,

hidden behind a treacherous wall

where only true love will make it fall.

But even with that the key must be found.

Many men have tried to climb the wall

seeking the treasure within.

In the end they succumb to a terrible fall,

walking away with their wounded pride.

When are these men going to realize.

This wall can not be climbed but must be taken apart.

Bit by bit, piece by piece,

a man with a heart that is true

will release my heart from the bondage within.

Communication and understanding will be the start.

Faith and commitment will make the walls tremble.

Love and kindness will make the walls sway.

Touch and tenderness will make it falter.

Combine them all the wall will surely fall

and amongst the ruins the key can be found.

He can then unlock my heart and hold it within his hands,

but will this treasure be worth the patience’s of this man?

Someday he will tire, and throw my heart away.
