Mona Lisa Lost Her Smile

Mona Lisa lost her smile

from a love she did not desire.

She thought she could handle

the gifts and money he bestowed,

but even that was not enough

for the love she wanted to hold.

Her body could not be satisfied

by his loving arms of steel.

She tried to fall in love with him,

but his icy touch burned her soul

for she could not love

this man she had to hold.

The web she has woven

pretending to be in love

has turned her smile away

and forever gone a stray.

Always know your heart’s desire

for this is how Mona Lisa lost her smile.
