Mary (Polly) Whitley, second daughter of James W. and Ferebe (O'Neal) Whitley, was born January 11, 1825, in Alabama. Mary died December 25, 1888 in Gonzales County Texas and is buried in McVea Cemetery, Gonzales County Texas. She married John Alexander Robinson on December 6, 1849 in Marengo County, Alabama. John was born November 26, 1818, in Clarke County, Alabama. John's parents are unknown at this time but suspect his father is Edmund Robinson. John Alexander Robinson served in the Mexican War from May 17, 1846 and was honorably discharged at Mobile AL in August 1846. John Robinson died April 3, 1895 and is buried in McVea Cemetery in Gonzales County, Texas.
