| 10% Fee - There have been some questions in the past of what exactly I mean by "independant shows". Let's say a band contacts me and wants me to book them a show in Effingham for some friday night in December. There is a sound cost which is usually around $300, which of course has NOTHING to do with me, that comes off the top of whatever is paid out, UNLESS the venune has its own sound or the band brings their own sound.. If the venue pays $300, 10% is $30 to me. If the venue doesnt pay, and you "play for the door", and you only make $100, i dont want your money. But if you pull in that $300, then i will of course ask for 10%. I think that is reasonable and fair. You can do the same thing on your own, which most bands do book their own shows, and more often than not, ask someone else to play with them. But if you just dont feel like it, or you are trying to coordinate a show thats 3 bands or more, and need some help, thats where I come in! :) If you have concerns in this area, feel free to contact me.
