All right kids, the end of 2007 is quickly approaching and the time for fooling around is over. It's time to get serious and win some serious WON! Win Won! Win Won! Win Won!
Pool Night is still being dominated by players from the UK - as Welsh James is our latest Champion - but there is still time for an unknown player to emerge from a random Korean alley and reign as the ultimate pool champion for 2007!
So here's how the next 2 weeks will go:
- Next Thursday - Dec. 20th - is the final chance to earn points and improve your ranking. Steve will conduct a poll to see who can actually show up for the big tournament, so if you can't be at pool on the 20th, make sure to let Steve know that you will be coming to the final tournament on Dec. 27th.
- Thursday Dec. 27th - THE POOL TOURNAMENT OF POOL TOURNAMENTS! There will be 100,000KRW to be won! WIN WON! WIN WON! WIN WON! The rest of the pool prize money will go to free food and alcohol to ensure everyone has a good night. This tournament will run unlike all previous tournaments. There won't be any pulling names from a cup. After the week of the 20th, all players will be seeded according to their points. Games will match highest ranked players against the lowest ranked players. This system rewards the highest ranked players for months of great play, and hopefully encourages the lower ranked players to do something amazing at the most crucial time. The following rounds will operate in the same manner (ex. 1st place will play 15th, 2nd place will play 14th, 3rd will play 13th, etc......)
- Points will be DOUBLED. 4 points for a win, 2 for a loss. When the tournament is over, Steve will tally the points and find out who the ultimate points winner is! Can't wait to see how it turns out, and hopefully everyone comes out for the next couple weeks of play....
WIN WON! Win WON! Win WON! Win WON!
Pool Night Rules:
1. Winner Breaks
2. You can ONLY lose by: Sinking 8-Ball early, Sinking 8-Ball in the wrong pocket, Sinking Cue on 8-ball shot, and actually getting beaten by a better player.
3. A "scratch" - which doesn't end the game - can only occur if you sink the cue, or hit it off the table.
4. After a scratch, ball-in-hand behind the line. You can shoot for any ball, any pocket, as long as the CUE ball moves in a forward direction.
5. If you scratch off the break, but a ball goes in, it is still "open". The next player will then take the ball-in-hand behind the line.
