NKF 10TH ANNIVERSARY CHARITY SHOW 2003 (I)
This was broadcast on
20 May, 2003, 7:30pm. Hanwei helped to raise fund in 2 events: The first
item: "The Big Wok" and the finale: "Big Swing"

It was real test of leg power, balancing skill and concentration. This is what Jeff said during the practice session before the show.

Jeff Wang: Responsibility: Cycle with Hanwei in a big metal wok hung up in the air. A loss of speed control will mean falling from a hole in the middle on to the ground... Personal advantage/disadvantage: Used to cycle everyday to school during childhood days in Taiwan. During the weekends also cycle to play... Most afraid?: Cycling on level ground for a few minutes is ok, but to cycle at high speed in a suspended metal cage is difficult to say. I am afraid I'll become giddy because I am afraid of height. Hehe! Secret: Hanwei must cooperate with me and move forward together. No one can be faster than the other! Results of training: Previously my legs are thin and weak, now after cycling everyday in MCS, my legs have become stronger! |

Before the performance, audience who called in can win a Master Card with picture of Hanwei and Jeff. Thousands of calls poured in within that short time. (The number of phone calls is displayed at top right of screen)

The show began with individual cycling. Hanwei starts before Jeff.

He also completed the second round of cycling with Jeff without any problem

| Visibly tired, Hanwei and Jeff continue to appeal for donations. All in all they roped in more than 70,000 calls in less than 20 minutes. ( This figure is double what was reported in the Chinese papers) | ||

最不屈不挠… 〖铁汉铁马铁般情〗 |
Most Undeterred "Men of Steel, Machine of Steel, Will Strong as Steel" Hanwei and Jeff were also at Bugis Junction cycling at high speed in a steel cage suspended in air. Any slackening in speed or loss of balance will cause one to fall into the bottom of the cage. The light cage also swang in the direction of the bicycle and made the stunt even more difficult. Jeff lost his balance many times. There was once the bicycle even fell from the height, giving us a fright. He fell many times and tried many times. Finally after all the cheers and claps he succeeded |

A trial of cycling skill Just looking at how Jeff Wang and Chen Hanwei defy gravity cycling at high speed in a cage hung 15 feet above ground is enough to cause the heart to beat faster.
