Drinking Bird Experiment
Purpose: To demonstrate understanding of pressure, volume and temperature relationships.
Procedure: Obtain a "drinking bird" and its box. Follow the directions on the box. Then design your own experiments to figure out all aspects of how and why the bird does what it does.
Results:
EXPERIMENTS YOU DESIGN IN THIS COLUMN
OBSERVATIONS GO IN THIS COLUMN
Conclusions: Explain how the experiments you performed helped you figure out what made the bird work.
Rubric:
10 points   paper turned in incomplete
F              paper turned in minimal effort, experiments not described or explained.
D              paper turned in: One aspect complete (why, or experiments or observations)                 minimum 6 experiments completed.
C             paper turned in: Two aspects completed, minimum 6 experiments                                 completed.
B              paper turned in: All three aspects completed: What the experiment was;                        What the result was; What the result means.
A            More than 6 experiments generated and well explained. Thorough                                understanding of Pressure, Volume and Temperature relationship demonstrated.
