Working as Reader in the
Department of Chemistry, University of Lucknow, Lucknow, India since 2001.

Was on sabbatical leave from the Lucknow
University from May 2001 to June 2004 on an Exchange Visitor Fellowship
in the Department of Cell Biology and Physiology, University of Pittsburgh,
Pittsburgh, PA 15261, USA. During this period worked as the Director
of the Drug Discovery Core in the Cystic Fibrosis Center and
was involved in developing epithelial channel modulators with Prof. Robert
J. Bridges, Vice Chairman, Department of Cell Biology and Physiology,
University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA 15261, USA.

Worked as a collaborator with Dr Sanjay
Gupta of Case Western University, Cleveland, OH, USA on the metabolic studies
of apigenin.

Worked as Lecturer (Assistant Professor)
in the Department of Chemistry, University of Lucknow, Lucknow, India
from 1991 till 2001.

Have guided two research students in the
field of synthetic chemistry. One student A.K.Tewari has been awarded the
Ph.D. degree.

Have a fifteen-year experience of teaching
Organic Chemistry to Under Graduate and Post Graduate classes at the Chemistry
Department of Lucknow University, Lucknow, India. The topics taught to the
students of M.Sc. Chemistry and M.Sc. Tech. Pharmaceutical Chemistry are NMR
Spectroscopy, ESR Spectroscopy, Nucleic Acids, Polymers, Prostaglandin,
Purines, Antiviral Drugs, Preformulation Enzymes etc.

Have a two year experience in structure
elucidation of natural products isolated from plants and marine sources by
various NMR Spectroscopic techniques while working on a post doctoral
fellowship awarded by O.N.R. (USA) and C.S.I.R. New Delhi, at the NMR facility
at C.D.R.I., Lucknow.

Worked for Ph.D. on the topic Studies
on Nucleosides of Biological Interest in the Medicinal Chemistry Division
of Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow under the supervision of Dr.
D.S.Bhakuni.
