What is rusting?

Rust is the chemical produced when iron compounds corrode in the presence of oxygen and water. It is a mixture of iron oxides and hydroxides. Rusting is a common term of corrosion, and usually is the corrosion of iron and steel.

Rusting and our school

Many facilities in our school are made up of iron and steel, and they have been used for a long time, therefore rusting should have occurred. As rusting can cause disintegration to iron and so danger to us, a series of action has to be carried out to prevent rusting.
