Based on a Playstation game that they may or may not have released in the States, obviously this anime isn't for kids. It's one of those REALLY complex ones that make you go "Huh?". Not to mention it's a wee bit bloody. (You know, jumping off of a skyscraper isn't exactly the cleanest way to go.) Still, it's good if you want something to make your brain work, and the animation is really good. They employ a few really interesting techniques, like seamlessly and subtly blending CG animation with traditional animation. I'd rate it around PG-13, just based on plot-complexity alone.

Protocol of Lain's World - I love this site, it's awesome. It's bilingual and it's got some GREAT CG pics of Lain. Worth checking out. Perhaps if they get more hits, they'll update more often.
