Ship's Log
SUMMARY OF  JULY 22, 2006
New crew: Bianca: she'd sailed before, taking the basic sailing class at Gottschalk marina aboard Camp Lejeune.
She's a great girl, environmental biologist; and married to a marine pilot.
A former marine myself, I'm looking forward to meeting him.
New crewmember: Bianca
New crewmember: Tara
Tara never sailed before, so it was all brand new to her.
      A fellow western NYer, she's a riot!
I'm not sure whether she or Bianca introduced me to the boat drink "Mojitos", but God bless both of them for it.
Refreshing dip
We sailed down to marker 46, swerving all over the river as Bianca tried to steer.
My friend, Rich, in his C&C 27, La Peguena, sailed behind in case we got into trouble.
Once at 46, we set the anchor, rafted up and went for a swim.  Bianca took the Mojitos in...
Pulling up the Anchor and Setting Sail
We had a blast, but finally had to set sail back to New River.  The discussion continued, teaching along the way.  It was a fantastic day.  And, at the end of it, there were two more sailing addicts in the world...haha!
