| LAST ENTRY OF RTHE KRUSTY KRAB EULOGY FOR A MUCH LOVED BOAT |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| There she is; the saddest sight I'd ever seen! It's sad from the water too!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I learned almost all that I know about sailing aboard the Krusty Krab; and felt that sailing her, at times, a transcendental experience elevated above the level of pastime or hobby. There was often a harmony of nature between my soul, the wind, the water, and one of man's most noble creations, the sailboat. It was pure joy on the water. And, despite the many mechanical problems inherited with an old boat, I always saw sailing with her in the most light-hearted way. We (Krusty and I) raced and cruised, not to reach any particular destination or to win a trophy, but just to be there: sailing. Just being on the water was enough. Designed to be a coastal cruiser, the Krusty Krab shared my dream of someday returning to blue water to cruise the Bahamas and Bermuda. One evening, down by the New River inlet, we were surrounded by dolphins. They would dart around the boat, surfacing, and spraying the deck with mist. It was as if they were speaking to her, welcoming her into their company, and asking her to follow them out to sea. That's the way that I'll remember her! |

| If I could have fixed her, I certainly would have, I could have done the stern, but the bow...ugh! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| She went WAY too soon! Thanks to everyone who lent me morale support during this tough time. |

| To end on a positive note: I've already found a new boat, a Lancer 28. I'll be starting a new web page soon to document her refit and adventures. See the link below: | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
