| Mandrell's Rustic Estate Goes on the Block May 30

Barbara Mandrell's massive log mansion and the 141 wooded acres surrounding it will go on sale at an absolute auction May 30. The estate, which is located at Whites Creek, Tenn., just outside of Nashville, is featured in Friday's (March 29) "Private Properties" column in The Wall Street Journal.
According to the article, the house has 27,000 square feet of floor space and features an indoor pool and firing range. There is a helicopter landing pad nearby.
Mandrell has had the estate on the market for some time at an asking price of $7 million plus. The house was built in the late '80s at a cost of approximately $6 million.
Mandrell dubbed the digs "Fontanel," which, she explained to visitors, meant "the soft spot in a baby's head."
It was designed by Seab Tuck, the same architect who designed the new Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Nashville.
