Chelwood Christian Reformed Church

Vision

It is the vision of Chelwood Christian Reformed Church as Gods missionary people to make disciples for Jesus Christ and to reflect his love to our neighbors in our Albuquerque community.

Since the Northeast Heights of Albuquerque is not a demographically growing area we may not see dramatic growth, but is reasonable to expect steady growth in our church membership.  To support this growth, it is our commitment to have a balanced emphasis on both corporate celebration, and small group care and discipling.  Within this balance each member is expected to participate in the new community, and we anticipate new members will be effectively enfolded into the new community.  We will design our ministries, develop leadership, and shape our organizational structure to support this commitment.

Since we as a congregation believe we have some basic strengths in the area of family life, and since God has placed us in a region of Albuquerque where some 80% of the local population is facing issues and challenges of mid-life family circumstances, we believe at this point God is directing us to focus on ministry opportunities in the areas of youth and family development.
